A White Stone and a New Name

Father of all mercy and strength, you are holy and patient and remain constant when everything else shifts. We want your presence before all things. Let our choices reflect your beauty and not the shadows around us. Give us courage to step apart when we are tempted to compromise and open our hands to receive whatever you have for us, even when it is not easy. We ask for bread for the journey, wisdom to see what is good, faith to let go of rival loves, and forgiveness where we stumble or stray. Shape us into people whose trust in your Son stands firm through pressure, misunderstanding, or pain. Deliver us from the lie that comfort or acceptance is all we need. Lead us instead to the joy of being named by you alone. Amen.
